BOSTON (CBS) - The Boston Red Sox are back in the ALCS for the first time since 2008, facing off against the Detroit Tigers for a trip to the World Series.

The series gets underway on Saturday, with Jon Lester (1-0, 2.35 ERA in playoffs) taking on Anibal Sanchez (0-1, 10.38 ERA in playoffs) at Fenway Park.

The two teams have never met before in the postseason, and while the Tigers took four of the seven regular season meetings in 2013, the postseason is a whole different animal. Three of Detroit's wins came against Felix Doubront and Allen Webster, while Boston had their lopsided 20-4 win come with Ricky Porcello on the mound, who is now in the Detroit bullpen.
