Rochie made his call into 98.5 The Sports Hub's Gresh and Zolak this afternoon, and Carl Crawford was still the hot topic. He spent some time with David Ortiz Thursday, and got some advice from Big Papi when it comes to hitting in Fenway Park. The guys also discussed players that may be restricted to start the year and as a result may find themselves in an early season slump.

A slow day down in Fort Myers, as position players took their physicals and the bullpen guys continue to work out. Carl Crawford addressed the media for the first time, and after a day of introductions, is getting comfortable with his new team. The best part this morning was when WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Jonny Miller asked him if his stolen base total would go down since he no longer gets to face the Red Sox (remember that six-steal game!).
Full write-up to come. Until then enjoy the clip!

Rochie called in to 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich Friday morning. Rochie brought up a few concerns for the Sox heading into 2011, including the screw in Dustin Pedroia's left foot. There is good news so far on the Jonathan Papelbon front, as the closer is looking good and throwing as hard as ever.

Dan's next call in to The Sports Hub will be on the Gresh and Zolak show at 1:40 p.m.

The position players will have their physicals on Friday, while pitchers and catchers continue to workout. The team's first full-squad workout will be Saturday. Marco Scutaro is in camp and ready to take part in on the field activities for the first time. Scutaro reported Thursday but did not participate, as he comes back from a slew of injuries. The Red Sox shortstop battled neck, shoulder and elbow injuries in 2010. When asked if he had heard that Terry Francona named his the starting shortstop, Scutaro said he did when he was home with his family, and had a BBQ to celebrate the news.
Just to update you on catching instructor Gary Tuck's spring training contest (seeing which backstop has the fewest drops during spring training), a Red Sox catcher had a drop for the first time on Thursday, although he would not say who.
