Red Sox Avoid Arbitration With Alfredo Aceves
BOSTON (CBS) - The Red Sox have avoiding arbitration with right-handed pitcher Alfredo Aceves, agreeing on a $1.2 million deal.
The Boston Globe's Nick Cafardo says the deal includes an additional $100,000 in incentives.
The 30-year-old went 10-2 with a 2.61 ERA over 114 innings last season with the Red Sox.
He may compete for a spot in the starting rotation in 2012, and also proved as a valuable relief pitcher last season.
The only Red Sox player left facing arbitration is designated hitter David Ortiz.
