Rainy Week Means Wet Homestand For Red Sox, Fans
BOSTON (CBS) - So when you bought tickets this past winter for a Red Sox game in mid to late May, I bet you could hardly wait.
Late May in New England conjures up thoughts of flowers and trees blooming, the sun getting warmer, perhaps even a few days in the 80's. You probably figured it might be your first chance of the season, to break out the sunblock, and if you were lucky it might even feel like a mid-summers evening.

Fast forward a few months to this weekend to you looking at the 7-day forecast and pinching yourself like you were in a nightmare and couldnt wake up! You probably thought... this cant be correct, maybe they loaded up the 7-day for Seattle or somewhere in the Amazon Rain Forest! But no, there was Barry Burbank, standing in front of rain on each and every day this week telling you, "I am just the messenger".

It is going to be a tough week over at Fenway Park. Coming off a sweep of the Yanks and finally getting to .500, what could possibly put a damper on a 7-game homestand...a horrible 7-day forecast!
Clouds... check.
Off and on Rain... check
Nearly constant drizzle... check
Cool, raw winds off the Ocean... check
Sunshine... any at all... unlikely
The forecast for each and every game night (and all the games are evening games this week) is the same...Overcast with intermittent showers, some of them heavy, winds blowing in from the water, temps locked in the 50's.

It is nearly impossible to time all of these showers and storms, so if you have tickets, you are just gonna have to go to the game, complete with rain gear, and be prepared for what could be a long night at the park.
There is some hope that by Friday and this weekend the weather pattern will begin to break down a bit... peeks of sunshine could squeeze through the clouds briefly and the showers will likely be somewhat more widespread.
So good luck to the grounds crew over at Fenway and good luck to the Sox this week too... perhaps they could get an advantage by wearing some sort of cleat/galoshes hybrid?
