"Pooch Hotel" Offers A 4-Star Stay For Your 4-Legged Friend
NEWTON (CBS) - In a tough economy, the "Pooch Hotel" along the Mass Pike in Newton is a rush hour reminder that luxury is here to stay.
It has 50 suites, including the $75 "Presidential" that is plush with a plasma TV and decorated with a daybed. The $100 a night "Palace Suite" has a twin orthopedic mattress.
There is sod, and scented fire hydrants for well, you know, and there are two indoor play areas; one for smaller guests and another for the big dogs.
There's also a "Spaw" to pamper your pet during their stay.
The hotel is staffed 24-7, and there are cameras, so pooch parents can watch online.
From webcams for your Weimaraner, to decadent day care for your Dachshund, to memory foam for your Mastiff, having a posh pooch is big business.
In fact Americans made it a $4.1 billion industry last year.
The Pooch Hotel is the newest luxury to come down the Pike.
