Poll: Facebook Users Growing Bored With Site

BOSTON (CBS) - A large number of Facebook users are becoming bored with the site and are spending less time on it, according to a new survey.

The online Reuters/Ipsos poll reports that 34 percent of Facebook users log on less than they did six months ago, compared to only 20 percent who have increased their presence on the site.

The primary reason cited for spending less time on Facebook was that the site has become "boring," "not relevant" or "not useful."

On top of that, the survey reported that only one out of five people said they had ever bought a product or service as a result of advertising or comments on the social network site.

The poll outlines a concern that many investors have expressed about the company's ability to make money.

Shares of Facebook have plummeted in the first few weeks since its IPO.
