Elderly Couple From Florida Killed In Crash On Route 152 In Plainville

PLAINVILLE (CBS) - An elderly couple from Florida was killed in a crash in Plainville.

The Norfolk District Attorney's Office said the couple was riding in a Ford Focus on Route 152 near Route 106 when it collided with a van around 3:45 p.m. Monday.

The driver of the car, 86-year-old Ralph Lanciano, was rushed to Sturdy Memorial Hospital where he died. His wife, 93-year-old, Josephine McAllister-Lanciano, was a passenger in the Ford. She was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital where she passed away.

The van driver was treated at Rhode Island Hospital and released.

There's no word yet on what caused the crash. No charges have been filed at this point in the investigation.
