Phantom Gourmet: Arturo's Ristorante In Westboro
WESTBORO (CBS) -- At Arturo's Ristorante in Westboro, chef-owner Domenico Fabiano cooks the kind of Italian comfort food you instantly fall in love with.
"I think our guests love our food because we cook with passion," he says.
Dom uses classic family recipes, making everything from scratch and keeping things simple.
"Philosophy in the kitchen is to keep the ingredients simple," Fabiano says. "Simple ingredients can really translate on the plate into a wonderful dish."
Dishes like Pappardelle Bolognese, a Margherita Pizza with housemade mozzarella and fresh Linguine topped with Mama's meatballs.
"My mother would make the meatballs not just every Sunday, but almost every day. It was one of my favorite things to eat growing up as a kid, and we make those same great meatballs here at Arturo's," Fabiano says.
The menu is filled with so many mouthwatering options it can be difficult deciding what to order. And if all the Italian entrees don't make the decision tough enough, Arturo's also serves one of the best steaks around.
"We have a wonderful beef tenderloin. It's an eight ounce certified angus beef filet, it's a center cut, and we nail the temp every time. And what we love about our tenderloin is it's not on the menu. So it's one of our nightly features from our chef, and we change the preparation each day. So the presentation tonight might be a red wine demi, and then tomorrow it might be gorgonzola cream sauce with fried onion strings. And it's a real mouthwatering steak, and our guests love it."
And they also love the busy bar and comfortable dining room, with high back leather booths, cool lighting, and view of the active open kitchen.
"Right when you walk in the door you can see our pizza chefs tossing pizzas in the air, and our saute cooks sauteing up great creations, and we're confident in what we do and you can see it all happening live right in front of you," Fabiano says.
And whether he's back in the kitchen, or out in the dining room, Dom is passionate about serving his customers.
"You can come in on any day or night and I'm gonna be here, to serve my guests and make them happy and make sure that everyone has an enjoyable experience."
