Pet Turtle Turns Up After 30 Days On The 'Run'
BEVERLY (CBS) – A 31-year-old pet turtle that wandered away from a home in Beverly has been found alive after a full month on the "run."
Zeke the turtle managed to escape through Robert and Debbie Young sliding door on July 30.
He turned up on Tuesday in a neighbor's backyard, about 1000 feet away.
Zeke has been with the Young family since 1981. Robert, who was stationed with the U.S. Marines Corps in North Carolina, found him by a stream.
Eastern box turtles can live for up to 100 years.
