Patriots Reportedly Re-Sign RB Joey Iosefa
BOSTON (CBS) -- The New England Patriots have reportedly signed running back Joey Iosefa after releasing him last week.
Iosefa, a University of Hawaii alum, reportedly turned down interviews with other teams in hopes of re-joining the Patriots. According to ESPN Boston's Mike Reiss, he remained in Massachusetts after being cut.
Those hopes proved true on Friday, with Iosefa now filling the final spot on New England's 90-man roster.
Iosefa spent most of last season on the practice squad but saw action in two games, running for 51 yards on 14 attempts December 20 against the Tennessee Titans. That included a 15-yard run where he absolutely ran over would-be defender Coty Sensabaugh:
Iosefa fits the mold of a fullback (one of Bill Belichick's favorite positions) with his six-foot, 240-pound frame, but will have a tough time making the final roster with New England's full depth chart at running back.
