Patriots Release WR Chris Harper

BOSTON (CBS) – The New England Patriots released wide receiver Chris Harper on Monday.

The move comes less than 24 hours after Harper botched a punt return in the fourth quarter of Sunday night's loss to the Broncos in Denver.

In three games, Harper, 21, returned three punts for 17 yards and did not record a catch.

If he clears waivers, it is likely he will rejoin the practice squad.
