Patriots' Jerod Mayo Welcomes Third Child
BOSTON (CBS) -- In a time where everyone could use a nice story out of the NFL, we turn to Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo.
Mayo missed practice on Wednesday, with the team listing it as "non injury related" on their practice participation report.
Now we know why Mayo wasn't at Gillette Stadium with the rest of the team: He was in the the delivery room welcoming his third child to the world.
Tale Of The Tape: Patriots vs. Raiders
Mayo and his wife Chantel shared the moment via Twitter on Thursday morning:
The Mayo's, who live in Foxboro, already have a four-year-old daughter and a three-year son.
Mayo missed most of last season with a torn pectoral muscle, but has picked where he left off over the first two weeks of the 2014 season. He leads the Patriots with 19 tackles, including two tackles for a loss, and a quarterback sack.
Now, in addition to getting after the opposition on Sundays, Mayo will have some added diaper duties at home.
