Patriots Activate Dion Lewis
BOSTON (CBS) -- Dion Lewis is back on the Patriots' active roster.
Lewis was activated by New England on Saturday according to ESPN's Field Yates, and he could make his 2016 debut Sunday night against the Seattle Seahawks following a lengthy recovery from a torn ACL.
The 26-year-old running back initially injured his knee back in Week 9 of last season and required a cleanup procedure back in August, landing him on the Physically Unable To Perform list ahead of the season. While LeGarrette Blount and James White will likely remain New England's primary threats out of the backfield, Lewis will add another dynamic weapon to Tom Brady's arsenal as long as he can remain healthy.
Last season, Lewis rushed for 234 yards and two touchdowns on 49 carries, and was also a big factor in the pass game with 36 receptions for 388 yards and a pair of touchdowns before the injury. He averaged 4.8 yards per carry and 10.8 yards per reception in 2015, his first season in New England.
