After examining all of the new data this afternoon, there really are no significant changes to the week ahead from what I posted last evening and Joe delivered this morning. You can scroll down and read our entries for details.

Essentially, the main weathermaker this week will be a wave of low pressure churning up the spine of the Appalachians over the next 3 days. Its inland route distributes the heaviest rain to the north and west of Boston where more than an inch should fall while southeastern Massachusetts will catch the least  with amounts probably near or under a half inch. The wet weather breaks out Tuesday evening and continues through the Wednesday morning commute with just scattered showers the rest of the day. Warm air surging up the eastern seaboard could boost our temperatures to near or just over 60 degrees on Wednesday before the cooler air wraps in from the west. Once the storm passes far enough down the St. Lawrence Valley, colder air will flow into New England Thursday via a gusty wind then Friday will be sunny and cold with highs in the lower 40s. It should become briefly milder Saturday with some sunshine then back into the middle 40s next Sunday as it becomes cloudy by the time the Pats/Colts Game begins at 4:15pm.

Looking way ahead into the big holiday traveling week, speculatively at this time, I see the potential for some rain Tuesday into Wednesday followed by a sunny, breezy and very cold Thanksgiving when the high temperatures may only be in the middle to upper 30s. It is too premature to be highly confident of this timing so there could be some adjustments to this scenario as we get closer to the forecast period.

Melissa Mack delivers her latest AccuWeather Forecast early in the morning and Todd Gutner follows later in the afternoon.

Make it a great week!
