Massachusetts Gas Prices Fall For 1st Time In Weeks

BOSTON (AP) — Massachusetts residents are getting a little break at the pump, as gas prices have dropped slightly in the past week.

AAA Northeast reports Monday that a gallon of self-serve, regular has dropped 2 cents to an average of $2.74, the first drop since mid-May.

Pump Patrol: Find Cheap Gas

Prices are still 8 cents higher than they were a month ago, but 96 cents lower than a year ago.

The average Massachusetts price is 3 cents less than the national average.

AAA found self-serve, regular selling for as low as $2.59 per gallon and as high as $2.95.
