Man In Motorized Wheelchair Hit, Killed
NEW BEDFORD (CBS) -- A man hit and dragged while in a motorized wheelchair in New Bedford Friday has died.
Police say the man, whose name has not been released, was crossing a busy intersection around 3:45 p.m. when a van hit him and dragged him about 25 feet.
The man died Saturday morning.
Fire Chief Mike Broder said the van was not traveling fast when the crash occurred.
Broder said he thought the man was heading away from downtown to Melville Towers.
The crash remains under investigation.
