NEW BEDFORD (CBS) - A man has been arrested in connection with a homicide in New Bedford on Saturday morning.

Police arrested 26-year-old Jose Carrion and charged him with assault and battery in connection with the investigation into the death of 33-year-old Melvin Pina.

Pina was found unresponsive in the backyard of a home on Bates Street at around 7:30 a.m.

Carrion is set to be arraigned Monday morning in New Bedford District Court.
