Mad Dog On Felger & Mazz: Need Your Head Examined If You Don't Think Brady Is One Of The Best Ever

BOSTON (CBS) -- Chris "Mad Dog" Russo joined Felger & Mazz from Radio Row in San Francisco on Tuesday, and had plenty of nice things to say about Tom Brady.

Mad Dog was adamant about Brady's guilt during the DeflateGate mess last year, but he did't want to talk about that on Tuesday. Instead, he wanted to make it clear that he's a big fan of No. 12, especially after he nearly led the Patriots back against the Broncos in the AFC Championship Game.

"I want to be fair to Brady – I'm more impressed by his guts [in the AFC Championship Game]. Him and Gronkowski, what a performance," he said of New England's 20-18 loss to Denver. "To have the guts to bring that team down the field after he was destroyed because of that lousy offensive line for 59 minutes. Gronkowski with those eight catches for 144 yards -- I was so impressed.

"I know I was hard on Brady with DeflateGate and that will never change, but I will never knock Brady as far as an athlete is concerned. He could play for my team any day," said Russo. "If you don't think Brady is the best [quarterback], or not Top 2 or 3, you need to have your head examined."

Russo also shared his thoughts on Bill Belichick and his play-calling against Denver, the Super Bowl 50 matchup between the Broncos and Carolina Panthers, and how the Red Sox will do in 2016. Watch the interview in the video above or listen to the full podcast below:
