Jeb Bush: Donald Trump 'Has No Clue What He's Talking About' On ISIS

BOSTON (CBS) -- Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump's positions on battling ISIS in Syria show he's not qualified to be commander-in-chief, rival Jeb Bush told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 Wednesday morning.

Trump has said Russia intervening in Syria would be "a wonderful thing," and that he'd support any plans by President Vladimir Putin to bomb ISIS.

"That's why Donald Trump shouldn't be president of the United States," the former Florida governor told anchor Joe Mathieu. "He has no clue what he's talking about."

Bush said Putin has no interest in partnering with America and only cares about propping up the Assad regime.

"This is a serious challenge that we face, we need a serious leader to deal with it - not someone who gets his intelligence and foreign policy briefings from watching the television shows on Sunday morning," Bush said.

Bush also criticized President Barack Obama in the wake of his decision to get more U.S. troops on the ground in Syria.

"It appears to me that this is basically a strategy to run out the clock for the next president to deal with it," he said. "It's a disaster."

Bush says he'll be spending a lot of time in New Hampshire, where he is currently running far behind Trump in the polls.

"New Hampshire is very important for everybody," Bush said. "Iowa is important, but New Hampshire has always been very important for every campaign."
