Hopkinton Considers School On Good Friday To Make Up Snow Day
HOPKINTON - School may be held on Good Friday for some districts hampered by a lack of snow days.
When the last winter snow storm hit Tuesday, it forced a sixth snow day for Hopkinton and many other districts.
School officials now have to open the calendar to meet the 180-day requirement that schools need to be in session during the school year.

On Thursday, the Hopkinton School Committee will decide whether to schedule classes for March 29, Good Friday.
It would be a half-day and students and staff who want to observe the religious holiday would be granted an excused absence.
Dr. Steven Hiersche says the reaction has been positive.
"If we have a seventh snow day it's either going to be a Saturday or going into April vacation," Hierschesaid.
School officials are holding their breath though, because April vacation is a problem in town because of the Boston Marathon.
Other school districts, such as Cambridge and Andover, have already acted to schedule a half day of classes for Good Friday
