Haverhill Police Officer Shoots Man Multiple Times During Domestic Violence Call

HAVERHILL (CBS) – A police officer shot a man in Haverhill Friday morning, according to the Essex District Attorney's Office.

It happened on Thorndike Street just before 5 a.m. The D.A. said the Haverhill officer, who has not been identified, was responding to a domestic violence call.

"In the course of their response, they shot a male multiple times. He was transported to Lawrence General and then to Boston. He is still alive at this time," spokesperson Carrie Kimball said in a statement.

The man's name has not been made public.

No other information is available at this point in the investigation.
