Gov. Patrick Spending Busy Weekend In Washington
BOSTON (AP) — Gov. Deval Patrick is on a whirlwind tour of Washington as part of the National Governor's Association winter meeting, including a White House Dinner hosted by President Obama.
The Massachusetts Democrat is scheduled to attend a series of events on Saturday and Sunday including a meeting of the Coalition of Northeastern Governors and New England Governors' Conference. Patrick is the outgoing chairman of both.
Sunday evening Patrick and other governors attend a dinner with Obama and First lady Michelle Obama, followed Monday morning with another White House meeting with Obama and Vice President Biden.
Patrick is also planning to squeeze in a bit of politicking, including an appearance of ABC's "This Week" with George Stephanopoulos.
Monday evening Patrick attends a White House reception in celebration of Black History Month, hosted by Biden.
