Gloucester Waterfront Building Collapses After Water Builds Up On Roof
GLOUCESTER (CBS) – A roof on a waterfront building in Gloucester collapsed Wednesday morning.
The building was vacant when a 5,000-square-foot section of roof collapsed, along with the building's wall facing Commercial Street. The collapse caused a gas leak.
The city's building inspector said a build-up of water on the roof was responsible for the collapse. Traffic on Commercial Street will be restricted until the building is taken down.
