Ginn Jr. Traded by Dolphins to 49ers

Receiver-returner Ted Ginn Jr. has been traded by the Miami Dolphins to the San Francisco 49ers for a draft pick, his father told The Associated Press.

The deal Friday was confirmed by Ginn's father and high school coach, Ted Ginn Sr., and won't become final until Ginn Jr. passes a physical.

The Dolphins had Ginn on the trading block even before they acquired Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Marshall on Wednesday from the Denver Broncos.

Ginn, the ninth overall pick in the 2007 draft, was a disappointment with the Dolphins. He has only five career touchdown catches with an average of 13.0 yards per reception, but has been more successful on special teams, scoring on kickoff returns of 100 and 101 yards in a game against the New York Jets last season.
