Gary Parrish On Adam Jones: Can Rondo, Smart Coexist On The Floor?

BOSTON (CBS) -- Gary Parrish of joined The Adam Jones Show on Friday night to discuss Boston's two first round picks in the NBA draft, and what drafting Marcus Smart means for the future of point guard Rajon Rondo.

Parrish likes the Celtics' selection of Smart and thinks the OK State guard can contribute right away. He thinks Smart and Rondo can coexist, but that combination probably won't last very long.

"It's never ideal to have two guys who aren't considered shooters playing together in the backcourt. That said, they'd be a beast defensively and really be bothersome on that end of the court. I wouldn't ever rule it out; they can play together," said Parrish. "It's not the tradition setup, so you're probably looking at guys who will play together for a little while, and then Rondo will be playing somewhere else."

Parrish also talks about Smart's incident with a Texas Tech fan, and how coaches around the NCAA rave about his leadership skills:
