Fires In Ferguson, Peaceful Protest In Boston

BOSTON (CBS) - While there were fires, violence and looting in Ferguson, Missouri early Tuesday morning, there was peaceful protest in Boston.

Late Monday night, authorities announced a grand jury declined to indict Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown.

There were ugly protests in Ferguson, but nationwide the response was generally peaceful.

In Boston, State Police estimate 75-to-100 protestors marched from city hall to the State House late Monday night.

There were no confrontations between officers and demonstrators, who chanted and made speeches. Park and Beacon streets were closed temporarily.

The protestors left just after 1 a.m. Tuesday.
