FOXBORO (CBS) -- Sunday afternoon's Raiders-Patriots game was strange in that it was a whole lot closer than most people expected it to be. But it was also unique in that if you didn't have a Polish surname, then you didn't end up scoring any points.

Keen eyes noticed after the Patriots' 16-9 victory, every single point was scored by a player with a Polish last name ending in -owski.

Sebastian Janikowski, the Polish-born kicker and veteran of 15 NFL seasons, was 3-for-3 kicking field goals to account for all of Oakland's points.

Rob Gronkowski, the Polish-American native of Buffalo, N.Y., scored the Patriots' lone touchdown of the afternoon, catching a pass from Tom Brady -- who is part-Polish as well, according to various Internet sources.

Stephen Gostkowski, the Polish-American kicker from Mississippi, successfully kicked the extra point after that touchdown, and he also successfully kicked three field goals.

It was a rather interesting quirk from an otherwise uninteresting game.
