Early voting starts in Massachusetts. Here's how to find out where you can cast your ballot.

Early voting started Saturday in Massachusetts for the 2026 state primary elections.

Every city and town in Massachusetts is required to offer early voting this weekend. According to Secretary of State Bill Galvin, most communities will have early voting on Saturday, while larger cities and towns will keep the polls open on Sunday as well.

You can find early voting dates and locations at VoteInMA.com. The early voting period ends on Friday, Aug. 28.

In Boston, early voting is being held at schools, family centers, libraries and at city hall this weekend.

There are several notable races on the Massachusetts primary ballot this year. Incumbent Sen. Ed Markey is being challenged by Rep. Seth Moulton in the Democratic Senate primary. Six Democrats are running for the U.S. House seat Moulton will vacate in the 6th Congressional District. Seven Democrats are looking to replace Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey, who is not seeking reelection. And on the Republican side, Mike Minogue and Brian Shortsleeve are facing off for the right to challenge Gov. Maura Healey in November.

Saturday was also the last chance for residents to register to vote or change their party before the primary, which is Sept. 1.

There is a ballot question that if passed would allow Massachusetts residents to register to vote on Election Day and cast a ballot. Another question would eliminate political party primaries for Massachusetts state elections and instead list all candidates regardless of party on one ballot, with the top two advancing to the general election.
