WEST SPRINGFIELD (CBS) -- Watch out, western Massachusetts. Here comes Paris Hilton.

The socialite and one-time reality TV star will be a special guest at The Big E in West Springfield this year, organizers announced Monday.

Hilton will show off her skills as an Electronic Dance Music DJ on the last night of the fair on Oct. 4 at the Court of Honor stage.

Officials at the Big E said inviting Hilton to perform was an "obvious choice."

"Having an icon like Paris Hilton close out the 99th Big E is huge," Special Events Director John Juliano told MassLive.com. "Paris Hilton has become a household name, having built an empire for herself in the public spotlight."
