Brockton Man Accused Of Kidnapping Woman, Robbing Holbrook Gas Station
HOLBROOK (CBS) -- Holbrook police have charged a man with kidnapping and robbery after they say he and another man forced a woman to drive them to a gas station before the men robbed it.
The woman was in her SUV in Brockton Thursday afternoon when she said two men jumped in, pulled out a knife and forced her to drive to EJ's Gas Station on South Frankin St. in Holbrook. The clerk there told police two men came in, robbed the store and took off in a red SUV.
Police tracked the car to Reeds Lane where it stopped and the men got out and ran off.
Officers caught one of the men, later identified as 31-year-old John Encarnacion of Brockton. They're still searching for the other man. Holbrook police released a surveillance photo of him from the robbery, hoping someone will recognize him.
He is described as light-skinned, black, with a beard and mustache, in his 30s or early 40s. The man spoke Spanish and was wearing black pants and a dark jacket with a gray hood.
Encarnacion is now charged with kidnapping, unarmed robbery and resisting arrest. He was held on $100,000 bail overnight and is now being held without bail.
Holbrook police said the woman suffered minor injuries.
