Man Hit, Killed On Interstate 93 In Braintree

BRAINTREE (CBS) -- A man was struck and killed by a car on Interstate 93 in Braintree Sunday night.

State Police were called to 93 south around 8:30 p.m. for a report of a man lying in the middle lane. He had been hit by a Honda Accord and was "unresponsive," according to troopers.

CPR was performed and the man was rushed to South Shore Medical Center where he died. His name has not been made public yet.

"The facts and circumstances of the incident, including why the man was lying in the roadway, remain under investigation," State Police said in a statement Monday.

Three women in the Honda were taken to Milton Hospital, but police did not say what they were being treated for.

Traffic was delayed as cars were diverted to Route 37. All lanes were reopened by 10:40 p.m.
