'I Don't Like Dollar Coins.'
Do you get irritated when a vendor or vending machine gives you dollars coins in change? I do. The coins are a pain in the neck.
When you buy something in a store with dollar coins you usually get a confused look from the cashier and sometimes you have to explain that they are actually dollars and not quarters. They do resemble quarters in poor light. People don't seen to recognize them as dollars, and when they do, they accept them grudgingly.
Then there are the weight and bulk issues. They are heavy and pretty darned bulky. They sit in your pocket like an ugly lump and ruin the line of your look.
Another problem with them is that there are coin-operated applications that won't even accept them.
Congress has actually considered replacing the dollar bill with coins because they don't jam machines. I have never had a bill jam a vending machine. Perhaps Congress should pay attention to more pressing matters.
I just don't get it. Paper dollars are light, foldable, and welcomed with open palms.
Please. No more dollar coins.
