A lot of places in Boston know how to do great breakfast. These five restaurants will have everything you want and more, and at a decent price too.

Boasting a unique ambiance, this historically placed restaurant also doubles as a book store. Have a seat outside on Boston's famous cobble stone walkways and catch up on your reading while you wait for your food.

If you're a late riser, don't bother. South St. Diner is open every day from 5 pm to 5 am. You read that right. Whether you're coming back from a late night out on the town or just have a hankering for early morning breakfast food, this diner is surely worth the trip downtown. Some customer favorites are the 16oz New York Sirloin with eggs and toast or Banana Walnut pancakes. They also have a variety of tasty specials including smoked salmon with a bagel & cream cheese, the infamous Monte Cristo, and the mouthwatering Chocolate Fantasy French Toast. To go along with their old-school themed atmosphere, order a Raspberry-Lime Ricky, Ice Cream Soda, or a frothy Milk shake.

The Friendly Toast has had national nods as one of the best breakfast places in the country. Choose from their 12 different types of waffles and pancakes, ranging from mouth-watering crunchy coconut to homemade batter chocolate chip. Or get the smoked salmon benedict dish with a side of home fries. Their wide selection of homemade meals and snacks will keep you coming back, but make sure your running on empty before you go. The portions are monstrous.
