Leaf Blower Ban Upheld In Arlington
ARLINGTON (CBS) - Chainsaws were buzzing all over Arlington as workers cleaned up from Wednesday's microburst, but gasoline leaf blowers will still be silenced in the town for months at a time.
Voters in Arlington had a chance to overturn a leaf blowing ban in a special election.
At least 20 percent of Arlington's nearly 30,0000 registered voters needed to vote against it to overturn the Town Meeting decision.
The vote fell short, so the leaf blower ban stands.
The ban is in effect from May 15th until October 15th.
