Are the Sox Falling Apart?

The Baseball Reporters Recap - May 19

Tony Mazz and Dan Shaughnessy seem to think so. It's almost the quarter mile mark in the season and this team is already 9 games back in the AL East. After the Yankees series, the Red Sox play the Twins at home then go on the road to take on the Phillies and the Tampa Bay Rays. This season could get out of reach if the Sox don't turn things around.
To make matters worse, Tony and Dan worry about the state of the clubhouse. Mike Lowell said it would be better for the team if he was released. Wakefield wants out of the bullpen. There was a meeting today with V-Mart, Dice-K and the Red Sox coaches to figure out why Dice-K was shaking off so many pitches in last night's game. The Sox have allowed the 4th most runs in the majors and run prevention was supposed to be a strength for this team. Josh Beckett will get the start tonight and Tony doesn't trust his ability to get outs with people on base.

Red Sox Nation: Hold your breath these next few weeks. Things are bad now and can get a lot worse. The next 3 teams the Red Sox face are all division leading teams.
