Angry Driver Fined In Connection With Trashing Auto Dealership

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) -- A Massachusetts man who admits he deliberately crashed into six cars at a New Hampshire auto dealer because it wouldn't take back the faulty van has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge in connection with the incident.

David Cross of Salisbury, Mass. was fined $250 in Portsmouth District Court on Wednesday after pleading guilty to driving with a suspended license.

The 42-year-old Cross still faces six counts of felony criminal mischief, one for each vehicle he damaged at the Portsmouth Used Car Superstore in July.

The Portsmouth Herald reports he waived his right to a probable cause hearing on those charges, moving the case to Superior Court.

Cross says he became angry when the dealership refused to take the vehicle back he described as a "lemon."
