AG Healey Awards $250,000 To Violence Prevention Groups
BOSTON (AP) — Attorney General Maura Healey has awarded $250,000 in grants to six domestic violence and sexual assault prevention groups participating in an anti-violence project sponsored by the New England Patriots.
"Game Change: The Patriots Anti-Violence Partnership" is funded with $500,000 from the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation and $150,000 from the Attorney General's Office.
The goal is to provide training for students, faculty and coaches at 90 public high schools in Massachusetts in part by pairing schools with local domestic violence and sexual assault service providers.
The grant recipients include: Womanshelter/Compañeras in Holyoke; Pathways for Change, Inc. in partnership with the YWCA of Central Massachusetts in Worcester; the YWCA of Greater Lawrence; REACH Beyond Domestic Violence Inc. in Waltham; New Hope, Inc. in Attleboro; and Independence House, Inc. in Hyannis.
