$5,000 Bail For Landscaper Charged With Poisoning Dogs In Charlestown

CHARLESTOWN (CBS) - A landscaper accused of poisoning dogs in Charlestown was ordered held on $5,000 bail Monday.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Kim Tunnicliffe reports

Kenneth Hyland, 53, of Everett pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Charlestown District Court.

Prosecutors say Hyland tossed anti-freeze laced hot dogs on the lawn of the bricklayers union on Medford Street to keep dogs off the property.

At least two dogs ended up sick.

Hyland was arrested Friday.  He denies the charges.

He has more than 30 criminal convictions on his record and several aliases.

As a result, his bail was also revoked in two other outstanding cases out of Lynn and Woburn.
