4TH OF JULY - GET HOME SAFE - CONTEST RULES
No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win. The contest is void where prohibited by law.
1. How to Enter the Contest:
(a) The 4th of July - Get Home Safe Campaign contest will begin on Monday, June 18th, 2012 and end on Sunday, June 24th, 2012. Contest is sponsored by Plymouth Rock Assurance Corporation, 695 Atlantic Avenue, Boston, MA 02111 (referred to herein as "Plymouth Rock") and is administered by WBZ-TV, a station of CBS Corporation, 1170 Soldiers Field Road, Boston, MA 02134 (sometimes referred to herein as the "Station," or "WBZ"). Plymouth Rock and the Station are collectively referred to herein as "Contest Sponsors."
(b) To participate in the contest viewers can enter online at www.CBSBoston.com and fill out an online electronic registration form with complete name, address, phone number, birth date, and email address. By participating in the contest you indicate your full and unconditional agreement to, acceptance of, these contest rules.
(c) One entry per person.
(d) Contest Sponsors are not responsible for late, lost, stolen, mangled, misdirected, incomplete, or illegible entries. Contest Sponsors are not responsible for technical or computer failures, errors or data loss of any kind, lost or unavailable Internet connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled or deleted computer or network transmissions, inability to access any Web site or on-line service, or any other error or malfunction, or late, lost, illegible or misdirected entries. Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void. If the Station determines, in its sole discretion, that there is any suspected or actual electronic tampering with the Contest or if technical difficulties compromise the integrity of the Contest, the Station reserves the right to void the entries at issue and/or terminate the Contest and conduct a random drawing to award the prize among all eligible entries received as of the termination date. If the Contest is terminated due to tampering or technical difficulties prior to its expiration date, notice will be posted at www.CBSBoston.com. The Station reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest for any reason at any time. The Station reserves the right to disqualify any entrant that tampers with the operation of the Contest or website or violates the Official Rules of the Contest. The Station' decisions in connection with this contest are final and binding.
By use of this website and by entering the Contest, you agree to the Station's Web Site Terms of Use Agreement and to the use of your personal information as described in the Privacy Policy located at: "www.CBSBoston.com".
(e) Broadcasts are subject to preemptions and scheduling changes. If such changes occur they will be posted on the WBZ-TV website.
(f) Entry deemed made by holder of e-mail address. The "holder" is the natural person who is assigned to the email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.
(g) Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries.
2. Eligibility Restrictions:
(a) The contest is open to Massachusetts residents who are 18 years of age or older. Employees of WBZ-TV, WSBK-TV, CBS Corporation, Plymouth Rock Assurance Corporation, other television and radio stations in the Boston market, and their parents, affiliates, subsidiaries and advertising agencies and their immediate family members and persons living in the same household are ineligible to participate or win.
(b) Participants are eligible to win a WBZ contest only once every sixty days. Only one winner per household is permitted in any contest. Participants are eligible to win a prize valued at $600.00 or more only once every six months.
(c) All entries become the sole property of the Station and will not be returned. By entering, entrants agree to abide by these rules, and warrant and represent that their entry is their original work.
(d) Participants are required to provide truthful information and the Station will reject and delete any entry that it discovers to be false or fraudulent. The Station will disqualify any entry from individuals who do not meet the eligibility requirements, and the Station will also delete any entry received from persons under the age of 13.
3. Prizes: One (1) Winner total
(a) The prize includes two (2) tickets to Top of the Hub Restaurant's Independence Day Dinner, Wednesday July 4th, 2012 at 7:00pm. Top of the Hub Restaurant is located at 800 Boylston Street, Boston, MA 02199. In addition to the two (2) tickets to Top of the Hub Restaurant's Independence Day Dinner, prize also includes round-trip chauffeured ground transportation from winners' home to Top of the Hub Restaurant on July 4th, 2012. Total value of the prize is approximately $1,050. A total of one winner will be selected.
(b) Prize can only be won after the contest has officially closed on Sunday, June 24th, 2012 at 11:59:59pm.
(c) All prizes or prize certificates may be picked up at the office of WBZ-TV, 1170 Soldiers Field Road, Boston, MA 02134. Any prize or prize certificate not claimed within twenty-four hours of notification will be forfeited by the winner, whereupon the Station may randomly select a new winner. In the event that a prize or prize certificate is mailed to the winner, it will be with the prior written consent of the winner and therefore, winner assumes the risk of its arrival. The Contest Sponsors are not responsible for the safe arrival of a prize or prize certificate.
(d) Contest prizes are not transferable. Prizes may not be substituted for or redeemed for cash. The Contest Sponsors reserve the right to substitute a prize of comparable value.
4. Selection of Winner:
(a) Decisions of the Contest Sponsors with respect to the contest are final.
(b) A total of one (1) winner will be selected. Winner will be randomly selected by the Station from all eligible entries on Monday, June 25th, 2012 at approximately 10:00am.
(c) No tie-breaking procedures apply.
(d) This is not a contest of skill.
(e) Winner need not watch/listen or be present to win.
(f) Winner will be notified by phone and/or e-mail.
5. Conditions:
(a) Payment of all federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner and the winner may receive an IRS Form 1099 or equivalent from Station.
(b) By participating in the contest, the winner agrees to have their name, voice, or likeness used by the Contest Sponsors in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest, and to sign a publicity release, affidavit of eligibility and release of liability prior to acceptance of the prize. By accepting the prize, winner grants to the Contest Sponsors the right to use the winner's name, voice, picture and/or likeness for purposes of advertising and publicity in any and all media now known or hereafter invented, without further permission or additional compensation (except where prohibited by law). All expenses on receipt and use of prize are the sole responsibility of winner. Winner and companion, by acceptance of their prizes, agree to release Plymouth Rock, the Station, CBS, their respective parents, affiliates, and subsidiaries, and their respective advertising, promotion and production agencies from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership or use of the prize or while preparing for, participating in, and/or traveling to any prize-related activity.
6. The Contest Sponsors reserve the right to make changes in the rules of the contest which will become effective upon announcement.
7. The Contest Sponsors are not responsible for any typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the contest or in the announcement of the prize.
8. Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant's disqualification in the sole discretion of the Station.
9. Failure of the Contest Sponsors to enforce any term or condition of these contest rules shall not constitute a waiver of that term or condition.
10. By participating in the contest you agree that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, this contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in Boston, Massachusetts. Any and all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these contest rules, your rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Contest Sponsors in connection with this contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules.
