$3 billion Seaport Square gets approval

Years of new development is about to get underway in South Boston now that the "Seaport Square" project has been approved by the B.R.A.
The massive 23-acre project will ultimately include 22 new buildings in what is being dubbed as Boston's "innovation district".
The director of the Boston Redevelopment Authority, John Palmeri tells WBZ NewsRadio the size of this project is impressive...covering an area that's mostly now parking lots.
Palmeri says the project headed by John Hynes will cover a mix of uses including residences, hotel and civil and cultural functions.
According to Palmeri the investment group includes Morgan Stanley and W.S. Development and much of the start-up financing is already in place.
