Investigators believe a man dressed in all dark clothing and a white mask approached the victim from behind and shot him in the back of the head.
Officers responded shortly after 5 p.m. to the 3900 block of Norfolk Avenue, where they found medics treating the man, who remains unidentified.
The man was shot while sitting in his car in the 5300 block of Frankford Avenue.
The man's body had "no apparent signs of trauma."
