A CHILD'S DREAM
As children, many of us dreamed of being California Highway Patrol Officers, we saw our reflections in the polished black boots of our role models. Our eyes followed the thin blue line along the tan trouser seam up to where the well secured pistol was affixed to a duty belt and we imaged that one day we would be able to protect others. We were mesmerized and transfixed by the sounds emitting from the "Walkie-talkie". What were they saying? Was there a bad guy on the loose? We stared at the shinny gold star and dreamed of one day becoming a CHP Officer.
Meet Tristan, he is a courageous 6 year old and has been battling with leukemia for almost 3 years now. Like many little kids, this little boy dreams of becoming a CHP Officer when he grows up.
We saw right away that Tristan was an especially brave kid and knew immediately he would make a fine Highway Patrolman; and for one special day, a very special boy became a CHP Officer. Welcome to the family kiddo...
(A very heartfelt thank you to all those who made this little boy's dreams come true. You know who you are and so does Tristan).

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—A 6-year-old boy who has battled leukemia for nearly three years was given the chance to live out his dreams for a day by becoming a California Highway Patrol officer.
Like many little kids, 6-year-old Tristan dreams of becoming a police officer when he grows up.
The CHP made those dreams come true, taking to Facebook saying, "We saw right away that Tristan was an especially brave kid and knew immediately he would make a fine Highway Patrolman; and for one special day, a very special boy became a CHP Officer. Welcome to the family kiddo."
Tristen donned the prestigious badge, sat in on a briefing and even rode in a patrol vehicle while on duty with the CHP.
After his day on the job the California Highway Patrol treated Tristan with a handful of toys!
