Christmas Tree Collection To Begin In Arlington

ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) -- Residents of Arlington can start putting out their Christmas trees for collection.

The county will collect Christmas trees beginning Monday and for the first two full weeks in January, through Jan. 15. The county says on its website that residents should place their tree on the curb no later than 6 a.m. on the day their regular trash is collected. The county says residents should remember to remove all decorations, nails and stands. The trees will be ground into wood mulch for garden use.

Residents who don't have curbside recycling service, such as those residents who lives in apartments, can bring their trees to the Solid Waste Bureau. To schedule an appointment, residents can call 703-228-6570.
