Texas Republican State Rep. adds consideration to abolish ad valorem taxes to special session

Texas Republican State Representative Brian Harrison shared his thoughts with Jack Fink on the state budget ahead of the special session, which he has sharply criticized. He said he believes that property taxes didn't go far enough in the regular session. Harrison filed 10 bills concerning property tax relief for the special session that began July 21, including proposing a constitutional amendment to abolish ad valorem taxes altogether.
