Texas Rangers gear up for home opener with new manager, giveaways and special first pitch
The Texas Rangers are preparing for their home opener Friday at Globe Life Field, marking the first game in Arlington under new manager Skip Schumaker. Executive vice president and chief revenue officer Jim Cochrane said excitement is high as new players, including Brandon Nimmo and starting pitcher MacKenzie Gore, take the field. Dallas Stars goalie Jake Oettinger will throw out the first pitch, and country artist Neal McCoy will perform the national anthem. The team is also rolling out a record 38 promotional giveaways this season, beginning Monday with a chenille crewneck shirt and followed by an old‑school bobblehead later in the week.
