Overdue library book returned after 82 years

A book checked out from the San Antonio Public Library in 1943 was recently returned—82 years later—along with a heartfelt letter. The sender, writing from Oregon, explained they discovered the book, Your Child, His Family and Friends by Frances Bruce Strain, while sorting through belongings after their father’s passing. The library’s marketing manager called it the longest overdue item they’ve ever received.
