New memorial built to honor 7‑year‑old Athena Strand at Bobo’s Crossing
A roadside memorial in Wise County has been rebuilt in bright pink to honor 7‑year‑old Athena Strand, turning a painful reminder of her loss into a symbol of community love. A local landscaper created it after Athena’s mother asked for help, and neighbors say it reflects both their grief and their unity.
