Fairview mayor renews push to lower LDS temple steeple height
A year after Fairview approved a 120‑foot steeple for the Fairview, Texas, Temple, Mayor John Hubbard says some residents still feel the structure is too tall and that the decision was pushed through. Hubbard, who voted against the permit while serving on the council, says the town faced pressure from a powerful organization but is now asking the church to voluntarily lower the steeple to 68 feet as construction continues.
