City of Hurst mourns sudden loss of longtime police chief
The City of Hurst has announced the unexpected death of Police Chief Steve Niekamp, who passed away due to a sudden health complication. Niekamp, a lifelong Hurst resident, joined the police department in 1990 and became chief in 2018. He was 56 years old.
