DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Part of Central Expressway in Dallas was shut down early Monday morning after a violent crash. The incident took place at around 2:30 a.m. along the northbound side of the highway, between Royal Lane and Forest Lane.

The crash involved five vehicles including a semi truck and four cars. It may have been the result of a wrong-way driver, but that information is still being investigated. Witnesses told police that everything happened so quickly that they could not even tell if one of the vehicles was traveling in the wrong direction.

Police officers performed a field sobriety test on a man at the scene. That person was then arrested, but there has been no word yet about his actual involvement with this multi-car crash, other than the fact that he was one of the five drivers.

The highway has since been opened back up to regular traffic, however, authorities are still investigating the incident. Despite the serious nature of the crash, nobody was injured.
